piero little misconception here, your files and folders get decrypted upon unlocking the device, so you would upload plain pictures to Google Drive. Use cryptomator or trust whatever privacy friendly service you choose to pay for (Proton Drive and Tresorit come to mind).
The encryption on your phone (plus other GOS hardening like auto reboot and USB port controls) is meant to make it next to impossible for an attacker to access your data when the phone is locked in BFU (before first unlock) state. Any backup you have that is accessible outside of the phone can be copied to a new phone in case the old one got lost or destroyed.
