WiFi calling on Pixel10

I've read a few posts about this and it seems a few people have got this working but working through info\suggestions I've not been able to.

To preface:
-WiFi calling is enabled through my carrier
-I have the sim set to prefer WiFi calling
-some Posts said to re-enable WiFi calling after enabling airplane mode my phone doesn't seem to disable WiFi calling after enabling airplane mode

This is important for me while traveling internationally so I don't use up roaming minutes and possibly texts although I imagine even if texts were sent over WiFi they may still count against my limits. I can turn of mobile data and roaming to force WiFi calling but it would just be easier to be able simply enable airplane mode. Why is this a default in Graphene to disable calls in airplane mode?

DaHai Your post is a bit confusing, but to answer your specific question: GOS does not disable WiFi calling in airplane mode. I have a rural vacation home and keep the phone in airplane mode when I'm there to save battery life (searching for networks is expensive power-wise) and WiFi calling works perfectly by default.

You can entirely switch off individual SIMs in cellular settings to avoid roaming chorges, but to use WiFi calling with the SIM number, you'd want to turn on airplane mode and then enable the SIM.

starglider do you have a pixel 10? When I try to make a call over WiFi in airplane mode it says "turn off airplane mode or connect to a cell network to make a call".

Okay looks like it was a carrier issue. Even though WiFi calling worked with cellular data turned off outside of airplane mode it was still some how disabled on their side. Weird that the system message would pop up but it works now. Sorry for the confusion. Also as far as I know this didn't have to do with the emergency address.
