Getting double SMS sometimes

I'm occasionally getting double SMS messages from my contacts. It might look something like this;

(Contact) Hi! Want to meet later for coffee?

(Me) Sure! Sounds good!

It seems to only be happening on non - GOS devices. My family uses GrapheneOS and I get SMS like normal. Anybody else (whether its iOS or Android) gets sent double. Any ideas? Thanks.

r134a no, QUIK. Forgot to add that. :) Same problem on default SMS app though

nandohyphen1 This was a known issue in the penultimate version of QUIK, but the most up to date version (4.3.4) fixed it for me. As long as I was using QUIK in one profile I'd see duplicates in the stock SMS app as well.

Well, it did need an update. Hopefully this fixes it. I'll find out when I get a text.

I had this bug too, i always used the stock graphene sms app.

But I rarely use sms, so I don't know if the problem ever was fixed.

Same scenario, i sent sms to a stock android phone.

Same. Chat with family on XMPP and SMS is pretty much all just for work related stuff.
