I installed GrapheneOS a few days ago at a location away from my home.
I connected my Pixel to the internet when the stock OS to was still in place, to perform any needed firmware uploads before flashing GOS. This practice is consistent with the official GOS installation instructions.
But here's the possible problem: When I first connected my Pixel the internet, the screen instructions took me through some dark patterns, which I unfortunately didn't identify at the time. The Pixel told me it was "connecting to Google." I then saw the standard Pixel home screen with Google icons (e.g., Chrome, etc.).
Given this, is it possible that I have leaked more info to Google than I should have? Granted, I provided no identifying info to the device. But could Google have its tentacles deeper into my device because of my mistake?
Or, is it instead likely that my device gave only the standard amount of info to Google that occurs during that first internet connection?
Thanks.
