~ at the bottom of each incoming text message

There are 16 character length strings that all begin with a tilde ~ attached to each text I receive after doing a factory reset on a previous installation of Graphene OS on a Pixel 9. Senders of text messages claim to not be able to see the string of characters, but I can see the string of characters upon receipt of the message.

Here's an example:

Me: Hey how's it going?

Responder: Good thanks hbu?

Does anyone know why this happens, and if so, can you send a link to some documentation so I can learn more about it and any services that are usually involved in these types of communication exchanges? I think it's with SMS.

I found an article through an ai search bot that says it's base64 encoded data that shows up sometimes when you use a non google fi phone with fi cellular services. I'm going to look into it some more when I have the patience and time for it, but here's an article the ai search bot found if anyone is curious. I'm not sure if installing the google fi app is going to fix it, but I'll try that next.

Hi, I am confused...I completely understand the "do not pass along AI-generated text".

(Unless there were edits), the user appears to say they used an AI search engine, then supplied the link for stackexchange from 8 years ago, which as near as I can determine is not AI related.

Is it that we cannot even mention that we used an AI Search Engine to get non AI links?

Perhaps it was just a friendly reminder?!?

I guess I am just really confused and missing the connection.
