GOS was in the process of updating (download or verify i can't remember...) and seedvault began backing up. Seedvault force quit vpn as well as the update process.
Is there a way to force quit seedvault backing up..? Or maybe not allow backup while updating?
(After restarting the phone manually the update continued — verifying took quite some time. All seems to have gone well in the end...)
