I'm not really sure what to do. About a month ago, the display on my GrapheneOS Pixel 7 Pro started leaking from the corner. It was small at first but has since grown to the extent that the digitizer on my display is now dead. I'm not sure if the two are related, but either way I cannot use my GrapheneOS phone. Thankfully, I have a physical SIM, so transferring my phone number to my old Samsung phone was pretty easy. I'm currently using my Samsung phone while try to get my Pixel 7 Pro running again, but that's where I'm running into problems.
I bought my Pixel 7 Pro for $299 back in July of 2025. My local repair shop quoted me $315 for a display repair. Ifixit sells OEM displays for $222.99. A used pixel 7 pro is now ~$200. At that price, I might as well buy a used Pixel 7 Pro. An aliexpress display is probably ~$50, which would make the repair financially worth it, but I don't want to gamble on poor quality only to end up with the same problem down the line. I also don't like the idea of just replacing my broken Pixel 7 Pro and contributing more to e-waste.
What are your recommendations? Currently, buying a replacement just seems like the best option.
