I been wondering if this idea of set up has any value or just a other unnecessary action..

Letts say I am a journalist and get target and whant to keep my phone as much as possible disconnected to me or my location does this helps?

I will sett up a new gos phone connect to WiFi and make a user profile and from there I will download the small ammounts of apps I need to later share with the other profiles when no longer connected to the WiFi via inter profile sharing. Also I will sett up my mobile travel router from this profile with the right settings and VPN pakkages.. If done with all I will delete the user and will conwct my phone with the mobile router only and the mobile router will only be a repeater for WiFi network or a getting network via a tethered device..

Question 1- does deleting the profile after all the set up removes the linkability to the WiFi network I used and thereby a location? If that's the case I will use a old mobile router with VPN better but not preferable because its old and who knows compromised..

A other question I have is regarding. amibike router.. I know this is a gos forum but I hope somebody can point me in a good direction who know where he or she talks about..

If using a mobile router with vpn to be specific the mudi router from glinet.. What does it sends out to the network it connected to as repeater regarding identifiers from the router.. And also if the gos phone is connected to the router it will not be visible to the WiFi network where the router is connected with right?

throw your phone and travel router in the bin and use a laptop with Tails installed, without an internal hard drive or modem!

No? What does this even mean?

Your device is still going to be apart of the network, including being assigned an IP from the DHCP service and contacting the gateway.

Setupp Wi-Fi settings are stored in device-encrypted storage, not credential-encrypted storage (definitions), so deleting a profile won't even delete the setting.

I think the options are to read a lot of background materials, for at least months, to basically become a security expert, or to hire a security consultant who can advise on your situation. Asking specific questions online will get answers to the questions that you knew enough to ask, but not answers to the questions you did not ask.

It's suggesting you that your setup is not efficient as you think, and that you should use other medium to store your information.

I would not completely agree with the same conclusion, but is indeed a fine answer.

@de0u is correct. You're missing a lot of information. If his suggestions don't work for you, I'd say you could start making a list of things you'll need to investigate really a lot to get a proper understanding of how things actually work, so you actually know why you need or don't need these things. Since you mentioned journalism, you could start by watching the movie about Snowden, as it's kinda related. See interesting technology? Add it to the list. Interesting device? Add it to the list. Have a question why he specifically does something in a way that's not intuitive to you or you'd done it differently? Or more related to this thread, he doesn't do it at all. Add it to the list.
Step 2. Go through your list for the first time and do a lot of research. Do not use AI when researching this stuff. Ever. Put the results on a second list, get rid of the first one.
Step 3. Realize for the first time @de0u 's suggestions were very reasonable.
Step 4. Read all of the GrapheneOS web site. Make a third list of things you don't understand or curious about.
Step 5. See step 3.
Step 6. Research everything from the third list. This forum has a lot of info, so use your favourite search engine and add site:discuss.grapheneos.org prefix.
Step 7. Plow through your second list and put the results on a new forth list. Get rid of the second list.
Step 8. Open this forum, sort it by date so the very first topic is on top and start scanning through the topic titles looking for things you missed during step 6. Bookmark everything of interest into categories. Once done, check step 3 once again. Read what you have in bookmarks.
Step 9. Read through GrapheneOS Mastodon account including their replies to other people.
Step 10. Take a look at your first and second lists and realize most of the stuff you wrote there don't make any sense, naive, and/or asked incorrectly. Time to be proud of yourself (not joking, it's a lot of work).
Step 11. Finish up investigating your third and forth lists.
Step 12. Return here, re-read your post. By now you will be able to reply to yourself and other newcomers why what you asked and proposed as possible solutions is not feasible and won't work not only for a journalist, but for average privacy conscious person. Also, you'll understand why if you're a journalist, it's a very bad idea to ask such questions for such a threat model on a random forum from random people.

Setupp Also hopefully a journalist expecting to be targeted has already identified a legal team qualified in the relevant jurisdiction, who could work with a security consultant. Was tying a phone already in custody to a specific Wi-Fi network the cause of Hannah Natanson's recent disruption ("FBI agents search home of Washington Post reporter")?
