Is Google Playstore Disabled or not?

Google Play Store was installed on a Pixel 10. In an effort to troubleshoot, Google Play Store was disabled (Not GmsCompatConfig). Since issues were resolved by disabling Google Play Store, it was kept disabled. Since no other issues were observed, Google Play Store was kept disabled. However, while the Google Play Store is not listed on the app drawer or a running service, the drop down messages says "Sandboxed Google Play Store is running", So, Is Google Playstore Disabled or not? Is there another way to verify?

The notification does not say that. It says "Sandboxed Google Play" and you're assuming it means "Play Store". Installing the Google Play Store also installs Google Play Services which is a software component required by many Play Store apps to deliver notifications for example. When disabling the Play Store, Play Services remain functional. If you don't want either, just uninstall both from the appstore.

This notification is from the OS, and it shows as long as the Google Play Services is enabled. The notification has the small label 'GmsCompat', since that is the name of the tiny built-in system feature responsible for this notification.

So, they're not, but that notification might lead you to think so.😉

I thought Google Play Services is GmsCompatConfig. I have GmsCompatConfig installed on a P6a and there is no such messaging. But on the phone with disabled Playstore the message exists. My understanding of your post is that there are other Google Play Services that are installed with Playstore that are not listed, not GmsCompatConfig, and do not disable when Playstore is disabled? Is this correct?

Scroll down to Google Play Services.
Sandboxed Google Play Store, when enabled has an icon in your launcher, while
Sandboxed Google Play Services has no such icon.

I don't get your point. I have two phones side by side. Both have GmsCompatConfig installed. One has Google Playstore installed, but it is disabled. I would think the two phones would preform the same. I am trying to understand why they are not. Apparently my understanding from post above when you disable Google Play Store, not all services are disabled.

Right?

They are two large different apps

This is a tiny configuration file built into GrapheneOS. You should not disable GmsCompatConfig. It is part of the OS.
