Hik connect notifications and refresh videos problems

Hello,

I am new to the Grapheneos environment. I installed the latest version on a Pixel Pro XL 9.

I am having a problem with the Hik Connect app, which worked fine on my old Android phone.
The camera part works fine, but the notifications don't work, and I feel like the app's information isn't refreshing. When I open the Hik Connect app, I have to wait a minute or two before the camera videos and notifications update. I am in the owner profile, I have changed the battery settings on the app and on Google services, but nothing has changed.

I feel like there is no refresh push on this app and it only updates when it is open.
Are there any other configuration options besides the battery and notifications? Are there any logs to analyze to try to understand the problem and find a solution?

Push doesn't seem to work for Hik-Connect. Tried Google Play version of the app and the one from Hikvision own website. I also dialed ##426## to see Google Push logs from Hik-Connect but nothing related to the app in the logs. Its driving me nuts!

LivingCostume Yes, it calls into question the use of Graphenos because I can't do without notifications.

Hello,
I’m experiencing the same issue with notifications. I’ve tried all possible troubleshooting steps.

In the Hik-Connect app, the notification diagnostics show a red “!” for “Push service connection”, indicating “Restart app”
Notifications are received only when the Hik-Connect app is running in the foreground, even if the phone is locked
In all other cases, no notifications are received.

Is the app dependent on Google FCM for push notifications? Is it an app connected over the internet via VPN, proxy or similar in to your local network to access an NVR, and then has its own persistent connection to provide a notification channel via Websocket or similar method, much like Signal does?

FCM works correctly on my device (Signal/Telegram receive push while idle)
Hik-Connect notification diagnostics always show “Push service connection: please restart the app”.

Debug with adb :

Logcat in foreground shows Hik-connect using :
- com.hikvision.hikconnect.push.longlink.LongLinkPushClient
- com.ezviz.longlink.EzLongLink
When the app is sent to background and the device goes idle, the system logs:
=> ActivityManager: freezing <pid> com.connect.enduser
The process remains alive (pidof returns a PID), but no LongLinkPushClient / HcPushReceiver callbacks occur after freeze
Camera events triggered while the app is frozen produce no push handling in logcat

freerik I think you need to send your logs to the app devs so they can fix the issue. If they take it seriously, that is.
