too much security not enough choice

I haven't figured out how to add clock/alarm/timer access to the lock screen, I don't think it can be done. I also can't choose to be able to see 2FA codes that are texted to me, without having to put in my pass code. I found myself having to log in too many times per day. so I turned off lock screen pass code. Graphene's security is too strict for me and it doesn't give me options to customize it. so the security defeated itself because its too inconvenient for me. defaults and recommendations would be appreciated, deciding for me isn't. I'm an adult let me choose how much security I want!

Apart from the other solutions already mentioned, you also have the incredibly convenient option of fingerprint unlock. Tap your finger on the sensor for half a second and you're ready. Almost as quick and easy as face ID. That way you get both security and convenience.

Also side note, you can turn on show notification content on the lock screen, and turn on media, quick settings control on lock screen,etc. Idk why the random rant since it how AOSP (Android Open Source Project) works, not GOS.

This thread is childish and immature. Despite the fact that settings are available in GOS to address ALL of the OP's concerns, s/he posts a rant because of not applying enough effort to find them.

A clock can be displayed routinely on the lock screen. Relevant settings are grouped under "Wallpaper and Style".

Notifications and privacy settings can be configured to allow content of SMS messages (including 2FA codes) to be displayed in full. Including on the lock screen, if desired.

No matter how GOS is configured by default, it is a fair bet that most users will need to adjust settings to meet their own needs.

It is true that GOS settings, by default, lean toward more restrictive settings. But there are relevant settings that can be tweaked to meet a particular user's desired. Depending on user needs, that may take a bit of effort.
