I take care of 4 pixels in my household. I don't really mess with the others after I set them up. Well I am just about to disable the update app and maybe go yearly unless there is a nice feature added. 3 out of 4 have given me trouble or scares. Just was trying to figure out why pipepipe was not playing videos on a pixel 9 (bat@55℅) and noticed a update landed and it wanted to reboot. okay, then I get the image of a android guy lying on his back with a bad news message. Well after randomly holding volume buttons and power button it booted back into android after 30 minutes of tinkering. That's the 3rd time. The other 2 , one was a close call while I was travelling internationally (battery drained somehow), and the other one ended up as resetting the device, I think it was another low battery, ( maybe update hit, asked to reboot but not noticed until device powered off from low battery?) Anyways davx is for syncing accounts is now working properly on pixel 9 and 20. yay. Big Thx Just need to vent about the updates, they come so fast which is nice for most but I have been having some terrible luck.

Bismark I recommend these settings, go;
Settings > System > System update > Require battery above warning level: ON
and on the same settings page:
'Automatic reboot': OFF
This way, you should get promted before the post install reboot, and sufficient battery for the operations.

Do you know what the battery level is, below which it will not apply the updates?

avaluedcustomer I find the limit at mere 15% is way to low, but you may also toggle require device to be charging while updating.

Edit: yes, especially since you've got a four-Pixel family to keep in shape, this would get you some predictability.

Pipepipe works for me, which was surprising since right now Newpipe and several other Yt-wrappers has stopped since, say 24h.

I think the update downloaded and started to install, finished install but gave message a reboot is needed. The phone probably was used for a day or two, then the battery drained before it was rebooted to finish whatever was needed. This is pure speculation on my part. I have since disabled the update app on everyones phones, nobody has any issues so far. I just seen somebodies phone they just got (non pixel), and OMG is it loaded with what looks like a hundred apps, I get a headache just looking at it! Feels good to use Graphene!

Bismark by disabling updates you're weakening everyone's security and you will not be able to receive support from GrapheneOS developers, because you're expected to be running a recent version (and yearly updates are not ok).

Without updates, your phones become a slightly better sandboxed Android phone. When a security update comes out and you don't update, your device is in fact more vulnerable than non-GOS devices. It would be pretty foolish to do that to yourself.
