Can GoS make it so those snooping someone's wifi or other means cannot see the model of the phone that is connected to the service?

The less footprint the better.

The concern is someone monitoring wifi would see a new model device logged on and would therefore start watching out for the new device now...

I think you don’t have a clear understanding of how Wi‑Fi actually works. I suggest you do some research. You can find useful information on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_802.11

Thank you but I didn't see the article confirm model device is not observable. Just SIM, IMEI etc.

It is the default behavior of many devices to transmit the hardware Mac and hostname so the AP and router are aware of it.

The default hostname of a fresh GOS install is the pixel model.

However, as netrunner said, GOS is in the minority to not transmit such things.

If you are worried about the device model you can rest assured. Wi-Fi does not transmit device model ;)

Connect to any hotspot, using default settings, the MAC will be randomized.
No such thing as a device model on GOS, unless you specify it as your device name, "John's Pixel 9".

I have admin access to wifi network at work and my phone is visible as "unknown" - I must check my phone IP to find it (usually there are 3-4 devices that are "unknown" at the network).
