Difference between Reboot vs power off, then start

I haven't been able to find a good description of this. I know there's at least some difference regarding network, but I'm largely unsure of exactly the goings on here.

In theory there isn't much difference. Some hardware devices may reset state more completely if they're off.

de0u Yes, I did some simple testing but observed nothing, except from a higly uncertain feeling of my mobile data getting a bit slower after a full shutdown, but nothing conclusive. At least I could leave having simplyfied a bit by tossing another far-fetched advice to give users when troubleshooting. 😉

The difference is that "reboot" automatically triggers a restart of the main OS instead of the restricted charge-only OS. These phones don't ever actually shut off except if the battery is completely dead.
