Google Pay: camera doesn't work

To scan a loyalty card with camera, the scanning frame shows up, but there is no image there - just a black space.

I tried to add Camera permission to the app and Google Services, no luck.
Ideas?

The problem is with any loyalty cards available, I guess it's the same with bank cards also but I can't test those.

Maybe so, maybe not. It seems very likely that you are not able to scan any loyalty card that you have tried. But it may be the case that other people have been able to scan one of the loyalty cards that you have tried. If so, presumably that information would be of interest to you.

However, similar to "Cunningham's Law", posting a thread titled "Can't scan Wal-Mart loyalty card" may result in somebody chiming in, as opposed to a generic post like "Google Pay: camera doesn't work".

On the other phone, the same card scans properly.
So maybe some tricks with permissions are needed here?

All cards works on some phone, so in order to nail down the feasibility of it working on GrapheneOS, you would work faster if the brand of card is known to us.

I can imagine that, but my personal investment in this issue is not likely to extend to installing Play, Pay, etc., on my device that is blissfully free of them, nor to buying a dedicated test device for installing those things.

Novalissoide It might be neither card works on GOS, though.
Any way, neither card available in the common list starts the scanning (Adidas, whatever), so obviously problem is not with the particular card's merchant.
