Hello fellow Grapheners, I am a long-time lurker of this community.
I started using GrapheneOS a long time ago and I never had any complain.
I always tried to understand why some things are working differently and the correct workaround for things that didn't not work out of the box.
Unfortunately in the last months I can see how more and more developers are locking their apps behind Google Play protect.
I always send emails and write to the various developer teams when I have some compatibility issues, always trying to explain them that their choices are not impacting the (always growing) GrapheneOS user community, but also other operating systems, sometimes shipped directly with the phones... and their business.
Most often it's useless, the lazyness of the coders is very important, and I feel like "vibe coding" will not help in the future.
I changed bank already 2 times.
For a while with some apps enforcing weird checks, I started to call internal intents to bypass them.
All of these solutions keep your head healthy, but are also tiring.
Today, after an update another app stopped to work.
I am tired guys.
Some of the apps I need are work-related and others are money related.
I started to lose some money (not much, but still).
I am slowly starting to think that we can't win against Google.
I am sorry about the rant, I felt like venting.
I am thinking of getting a pure Android device and give up some security/privacy.
If you have any good readings I might am missing on why Google is not actually winning, I will be more than happy to read them!
I need some hope.
