Hi there, I'm interested in buying the Google Pixel 10 Pro and install GrapheneOS but I have a question about video before I make my purchase.

If I install the OS would it be possible to make a continuous video of around 2 hours without interruptions or file splitting?

And can the Pixel 10 Pro be cool enough without overheating if I record 4k 30fps?

I'm not sure if the OS will make any difference, but I'll buy the 1TB to make sure I have enough space. I can also buy the XL if it can do continuous videos better.

Recording a 2h long 4k video with the built-in camera app should be no problem at all for the Pixel 10 Pro.

I've tested this by recording a YouTube video from another screen. The battery dropped by 35% from 88% to 53% during testing. The phone got only warm at most though you should keep in mind that the auto-focus and -stabilizer didn't have to do any work. So real-world experience may be slightly worse but probably not by much.

As you are aware the file size of the video is pretty substantial at 30GB for the test video.

The video was one size 30GB for 2 hours? I thought there's a limit of 4GB per video file?

You have the Pixel 10 Pro 1TB? Would it make a difference if I buy the 512GB or 1TB?

I'll be using stablization and auto focus, would it be better if I connect it to a power bank and something to cool it?

Gosthebest Yes, my Pixel 10 Pro 128 GB has GrapheneOS installed and is up to date. I only simulated real-world use by recording a YouTube video running on another screen. It was one of those walking through Tokyo-at-night videos. Even if you assume that the battery depletes twice as quickly in a real-world-scenario it would still be sufficient.
Yes, the mp4-file is 30GB in size, 2 hourse long and was recorded using the pre-installed camera app (not the "Pixel Camera"). I'm not aware of any imposed limit on the file size of a recording. The camera is probably going to stop recording when the phone starts to overheat or its storage is full. As I wrote in my previous post I didn't encounter any excessive heat—only mild warmth. Though I obviously can't tell for sure how the phone is going to behave on a hot summer day while you're moving around and using the auto-focus and auto-stabilizer.

If you plan on editing your videos using your phone you'll probably want the 256 GB model or above because its storage is faster. Depending on your use-case you may even need 512 GB or 1 TB but I can't say if more storage is worth the price increase to you.

I also want to use MotionCam Pro to record RAW video, I guess it could overheat after 1 hour of continuous video.
Did anyone test this app? How much storage does RAW 4k 30fps take?
