Unable to turn on/off my phone with the power button

I recently switched my phone back to GrapheneOS after returning to the stock OS for some time, but this time my power button seemed to have malfuctioned and I couldn't use it to turn my phone off or on. The only thing that would happen when I pressed it was that the phone would shut off completely after a couple of minutes and restart, and factory resetting didn't seem to fix it either. I used the gestures on NeoLauncher for some time but I didn't want to rely on that. Is this an issue with my hardware or are there any other fixes for this?

AchyParts one way is to go
Settings > Accessibility > Accessibility shortcut
Here you should enable 'Volume keys'. Also make sure the accessibility shortcut is enabled.

Now press both volume keys at the same time, hold for two seconds. Press the 'Power' icon.

Btw, how do you power on the device without power button? Connect cable?

I tried that, the only options for power are emergency, lockdown, shut down, and restart but I'm looking for a way to make my phone sleep by just pressing the power button (should've clarified that part oops).

As for your second question normally tapping on it just wakes it up but I've shut it down and now it isn't turning on.

AchyParts If it's just the power button, a repair might not be too expensive. Is there a repair shop nearby?

AchyParts you press the volume keys as before, but instead of pressing 'Power', press instead 'Lock screen'.
