Status "Silent" cannot be changed

Hi all

My phone has the status "silent" and I don't find any way to change that. All calls from phone, from Whatsapp, from telegram, from signal remain all silent.

I try to change it with changing the status using the volume button and then on top of the bar I change it to different states (silent, not silent, vibrate) and back, but it always stays silent.

The mode I usually on "allows all notifications".

Somewhere I read de-installing / re-installing Play Store and Play Services could help. Well it did not for me.

I see there are apps which supposedly can change the status "silent", but do I really have to install one of them to make this work??

My phone is a Pixel 9 pro XL with Android version 16.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was trying to add a screenshot to document my issue, but I am not sure how to do that here.

When I switch from non-silent to silent mode I can see the icon on the right-hand top. When I switch it back to non-silent it disappears. That is great. - However there are the lines with the notifications from the different apps. And on top of these notifications on the left hand side it shows "silent". This never disappears when I switch between "silent" and "non-silent".

zuug7 you could go
Settings > System > Reset options > Reset app preferences

This will reset most notifications settings, but also your apps permissions settings you've may have done. It will not delete saved apo data like accounts, contacts etc (except I think , contacts scoping, this I'm unsure about).

Is your device auto-updated?
