Proton VPN on GrapheneOS – issues with multiple profiles

Hi everyone,
I’m fairly new to GrapheneOS and still trying to understand how apps behave across different profiles.

I’m using Proton VPN (paid plan). I installed it successfully in the Owner profile using the Play Store, and it works fine there. The problem starts when I try to use Proton VPN in other profiles and also try to open countries related websites.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Elsiejoseph what exactly is your issue? VPNs work independently on each profile so profiles work as separate devices. Also you need to install apps from the same source (aka you can't install an app via F-DROID when it's already installed in another profile via Play Store), but preferably you just push it from the owner to the user since it's already installed there.

Do you use anything else in the VPN slot of your user, like Orbot, Adguard, RethinkDNS etc.?

What page can't you open? What is this page you linked supposed to tell anyone?

We can't help if you don't explain the problem clearly. Just saying you have a problem is not sufficient.

Similar setup here, with no issues (as yet?)

Perhaps you've burned through your session quota? Depending on Proton subscription, you get a limit for how many simultaneous sessions you can keep.

Otherwise, can you specify the nature of the issues you are experiencing?

Thanks for explaining! I get that VPNs work independently on each profile and that profiles act like separate devices. I’ll make sure to install apps from the same source, or just push them from the owner profile if already installed.
