Wifi Hotspot - enable either 2.4, -OR- 5GHz?

Hello.

Coming from another Android-device where I could choose, if the hotspot shall be in 2.4, or 5Ghz, I wonder why I can not choose that in GrapheneOS. I can only choose 2.4 and 5 Ghz, or 6 Ghz (which is greyed out).

My issue is, that some devices for whichever reason beyond my current control connect to 2.4 GHz, and with that I am lacking speed in the connection I need (display sharing trough spacedesk, so I would like to have an option for 5Ghz Hotspot only (2.4 disabled) as I am used to.

Is that a possibility, and why is currently the combination of both an option?

I get that both combined can make a lot of sense in certain scenarios, but in my case it's a hassle not to have 5 GHz only. If I need to use spacedesk, then I would rather have the device dropping a bad (5GHz connection, than switching to 2.4 which gives me a not usable 0-3 FPS on the spacedesk screen), but regularly 25+FPS on 5GHz.

I'm not aware of such an option and I don't know why this is the default, but what I do know is that you should be able to explicitly specify which frequency band the client device will use when connecting. Some have weird settings that will prefer 2.4GHz over 5GHz. Another potential cause could be bad signal (5GHz signal strength decreases faster than 2.4GHz) which could be causing your device to choose the most reliable connection rather than the fastest. I don't know what client device you have, so do your own research for how to force a 5GHz WiFi connection. AFAICT you need to ensure you're connecting to the network with the BSSID of the 5GHz network (the two bands have a different one, even if they have the same SSID and password).

It's as you say, my connecting devices should have the option. One currently is Win, and there I can set preferred to 5 GHz, but it falls back to 2.4 occasionally. I could disable 2.4, but need if in other scenarios. I also have an Android device where I can not at all find any option for preferring 5 GHz, and with that I was hoping that I could just set on the Graphene Hotspot side "5Ghz only", which as stated is not supported...
