Private Use of Mobile Data/ Sim

I got a pre paid 3 month Mint Mobile sim card. In order to use mobile data it would seem I'd need to connect to the network to use mobile data when I'm in the car etc....
What settings allow me to do this in the most private way. I have access to 4 different WiFi calling options in my 2 profiles sobas lingbas I have WiFi, I won't need to use the cellular network for calling from the number linked to my SIM card.....

d9780 If you want to hide your internet traffic from your carrier use a VPN. But of course you'll still need to trust your VPN provider. If you need to be anonymous use Tor.

Primarily my imei number from the network my sim card connects to for WiFi.
Can I still operate in airplane mode w WiFi toggled on after my sim card is in use?

Activating airplane mode will terminate cell data and voice and wifi and bluetooth. No radios will be used.

You can then reactivate wifi. I do this frequently.

Thanks! Is there any reason why I don't stay in this mode, ie wifi on plus airplane mode?

I was curious how the wifi and gos worked when it was in airplane mode? I thought they needed to use 'radio waves' to connect to the network/ internet......
