Obtanium and Google's new developer-ID requirement

What a way to start 2026: I boot up my Pixel and see a message from Obtanium that, if I understood correctly, it will cease to be, because Obtanium's developers are (understandably) unwilling to submit to Google's new requirement for identification. Have I got that right? (I did not screenshot the message, and now I cannot recover it.)

It will continue to work on GOS.
Its to deploy 3rd party apps (outside app store) on "official" Android devices, like the stock OS.
OS's like GOS are not affected, the dev states that in the message.

What confused me was elsewhere reference is made to certified devices rather than certified OSes. I thought a Pixel might be a certified device regardless of the OS on it.

google, i guess. they could just stop allowing to unlock pixel's bootloader, couldn't they?
at least, for this moment, when hypothetical GOS device from unnamed OEM doesn't exist yet.

Elgoog Think its just bad wording, certified on Android usually means it meets the integrity levels, which GOS doesn't on the highest level as its not whitelisted by Google.
But the potential upside is, given GOS isn't whitelisted by Google, it also may mean they cant be forced to set this up.
It wont change anything on the app store, we will still see malware.

But I use linux mint on my pc and don't know how to add graphene os on a pixel
And is there any one who can show me a youtube video to do it with linux mint ?

Freebird4566zz make sure to use a browser like brave. I use zen but had to download brave for the website to let you start the process.
Its super easy.

Issue to look out for:
When you get into boot mode. If device status is locked and does not say “(unlockable)” next to it. Your ohone may not be a true unlocked phone, carrier phones that become unlocked keep their boot locked.
