RethinkDNS users: are you plagued by repeated failures to check for system updates? Is there a solution?
I'm sending all network traffic through RethinkDNS, configured with a simple wireguard proxy for DNS & VPN traffic
Almost daily, I face an error I've been unable to resolve (pun intended): the System Updater app, app.seamlessupdate.client, fails to get a response from the update server & times out after 15000ms. I then receive a system notification announcing this failure.
The server is not truly unreachable - I am always able to perform this check manually from settings, with success, immediately following this failure. The issue only seems to manifest when it's conducted through RethinkDNS as a background process
It does not seem to be a DNS issue, as the releases.grapheneos.org domain is successfully resolved to an IP. Oftentimes it's from the cache, but I have also confirmed logs showing it's been resolved through my proxy
Anyone have any idea what's going on? It's not a critical issue, but these erroneous failure notifications are annoying
