if we think in phone terms, which would you accept; me giving you a Pixel with GOS installed and telling you it's secure, or one you bought yourself where you install the OS?
when they're done configuring their servers, they run completely headless (no remote log-on)
i i'm sure it doesn't hurt marketing either
of course no VPN can really be fully trusted and all of this assumes that what Azire tells us is true, but they seem to be pretty transparent and have even recorded videos of them setting up their servers, flying to the data center and installing them
and just a minor point of correction; Mullvad does own their servers in Sweden, but not the rest (at lease that was accurate last time i checked - a few months ago)
