How do I get Google Findhub to work?

It works with the phone itself. But I recently bought some ugreen luggage trackers and they refuse to be detected by the app. I know it's an issue with GOS since I tested it on a regular Android phone and it worked straight away. So clearly there's some setting somewhere or some dependency I'm missing.

I've installed the Google Finder app and have Google play services running with Bluetooth enabled but the Finder app still doesn't connect to it. Yes, I have the android compatible Finetrack version. Not the iOS version. I've given Findhub all the permissions it needs including the permission to detect nearby devices.

Update: After installing a few other google apps I managed to inadvertently find whatever app was the dependency for FindHub. At which point it was able to detect the bluetooth tracker. However it then error'd out and said that my google account isn't eligible for connection due to it being a childrens account or some such (it isn't). So in the end I gave up.

I wanna say that compared to findmyiphone the FindHub works awfully even with stock devices, I wouldn't trust it if I lost anything anyway (although I bought a shitload of trackers already)
