How to buy a pre-paid SIM in USA?

Might sound like a dumb question, but it is very hard. Especially if you want to pay cash at a store.

During my last visit almost a year ago in Miami, no places had pre-paid SIM cards. ATT and Verizon at the mall I went wanted to sell me post-paid plans. They say they don't carry pre-paid anymore. Also went to target and CVS, same story.

I finally had to pass it because I did not want to pay 35 USD for one at the airport. I just want a US number, mine last one had been reclaimed by someone else.

I will be there again in a few weeks. Is it still possible to get one in USA these days?

pizzadequeso most probably issue with the store you went. atleast target still have the prepaid sim cards, I always get it from there. You can go to targets website change it to store mode then give the zip code to find a store. Search for Simcard Eg- mint mobile it will show you if they have any of those and if they have it how many quantities left.

It's absolutely possible. I'm using a prepaid Verizon Sim card setup with a burner account. I've done this for a few friends too.

You need to buy the sim (they call it an activation kit) and then sign up online with that sim number and your IMEI number. They sell them at best buy, and some department stores. Since I am installing Graphene for a lot of people, I bought a bulk amount of the sim cards off Ebay.

Just use a fake name and email, along with VPN or public wifi when signing up if you want full burner status. I don't even use my Verizon prepaid number for calls and sms, just data. I use Signal primarily and the Hushed VOIP app for legacy contacts and work.
