How to manually check for GOS updates and see current software version?

I am in settings - system - system updates (Android 16) - check for updates. When i tap on "check for updates" nothing happens, so assume i have the latest version?

Also, how do I know which GOS version i am running on? Don't see an option to check that either. Thanks and sorry maybe this is a dumb question.

You can also open the Info app. It will automatically detect and scroll to your current version, if a newer version is available.

One you tapped that button, you can check in your notifications what’s announced. If you have the latest, “System is up-to-date ” will be displayed 😉

Did you turn off the Already Up To Date notifications? You can check by going to Settings > System > System Updates > Notification Settings > Expand the Other Section > Toggle ON Already Up To Date

Why does App Info say "Version 6" and "Updated: Aug 7, 2025 2:45PM" - is that when the app called "Info" was last updated, or is that when it thinks grapheneOS was last updated?

I have the Notification Settings on and do see occasional updates - which conclude with "System is up to date" (or something similar).

About Phone says "Build Number: 2026021200" - which looks pretty current to me.
