I got an older generation car in which connection for Android Auto is wired only.
It has those USB A type connectors which are a bit loose, meaning a little jiggle on them can create disconnections.
I am noticing when such disconnections happen, no reconnection is possible, meaning the phone will be able to charge again when the connection is restored (ie the socket is "jiggled" back in a proper contact position), but no Android Auto communication/detection will be happening until I reboot my phone.
Further disconnection/waiting/reconnection of the cable have no impact on the Android Auto front: on replug, I notice the vibration indicting charge is happening, but no USB connection notification happens on the car side, and no notification on the phone indicates any Android Auto communication whatsoever.
I have upgraded my car firmware in the meantime (often good to keep things up-to-date, right?), with no change on that front.
Any ideas?
