Stream to AirPlay device

I’m pretty new to Android (after Ericsson, BlackBerry, and iOS) and just make the switch from an Apple ecosystem for my whole family.

Here’s where I’m at and the snag I’ve hit:

Device: Pixel 6 (running GrapheneOS)
Apps installed so far:
- Aurora Store (to get apps without Google Play)
- Tidal (tried to stream music)
- Several “bridge”‑type apps installed and deinstalled (still hunting for the right one)
- AirMusic Trial – it detects my AirPlay‑compatible Yamaha receiver on the same Wi‑Fi network

What happened:

When I open Tidal and try to play and stream a track, the only option shown is “This device”. In other words, Tidal doesn’t see my Yamaha receiver at all. I tried a few third‑party bridge apps, but none of them exposed the receiver to Tidal.
AirMusic does see the receiver (it shows up correctly in its UI), yet I still can’t get any audio to stream from Tidal through it.

My questions:

Do I need an additional app to act as a proper AirPlay bridge for Tidal on GrapheneOS? If so, which one works reliably without Google Play services?
Is there a configuration tweak in GrapheneOS (or in the Aurora‑installed apps) that I’m missing?
Could the issue be related to permissions or network isolation on GrapheneOS? How do I verify that Tidal and the bridge app have the necessary local‑network access?

Any tips, step‑by‑step guides, or recommended apps would be hugely appreciated. I’m happy to share logs or screenshots if that helps pinpoint the problem.

Have you tried Yamahas own cast app MusicCast?

AirPlay is used with iOS, your Phone runs android.

You can either cast directly (depending on what receiver you have), or via Bluetooth.

Did you give the tidal app permission to see other devices on the same network?

Yes, Tidal does have permission to see other devices on the same network.

I installed MusicCast but the app does not detect my Yamaha RX‑S6000D receiver, which is connected the to my router with an Ethernet cable. The Yamaha AV Controller app, however, does recognize the receiver.

Since the RX‑S6000D lacks built‑in Bluetooth, I’m wondering whether I need to purchase:

a) a Bluetooth receiver, or
b) a Chromecast Audio dongle?

I’d prefer to avoid buying additional hardware for now, because if I can’t get the music working I may have to revert to using Apple devices.

I’ve also tried other apps, such as BubbleUPnP for DLNA/Chromecast, but haven’t had any success yet. My understanding is that BubbleUPnP should stream audio from my Android phone over the router to the receiver, provided both are on the same network.

Thoughts, ideas?
