connected but not charging

My Pixel 7 Pro was charging fine until recently. During a recent charging session, I noticed that despite being plugged in for a significant amount of time, it was actually losing power instead of charging.

When I plug in the cable, the phone initially responds as though it's charging for about 20 seconds, then reverts to displaying "connected but not charging." Even when powered down, the graphene screen saver activates and shows the remaining battery percentage, but no charge is being received.

I've tried different cables to no avail. The phone now has very little battery life left, so I've switched it off completely—I'm worried that if it dies entirely, I won't be able to boot it up and troubleshoot the issue. I'm at my wit's end.

Tjsmode Did you try a brick with more wattage? 30 watts works reliably for me

I noticed that the brick I was using for a long time is not working reliably anymore when the phone is lower. I recall going to some part of the settings app (perhaps battery) and seeing a message along the lines of connected but charging due to low power? I do not remember exactly to be fair, so might have been only 'connected but charging' or not in the settings app at all.

Turn our USB C control under Security and Privacy and Exploit Protections to ON.

If this doesnt resolve it, and I domt believe it will, check your USB C port is cleared of debris and if it still wont work start thinking about taking it to a repair specialist to be looked at.

Thanks exploit protections were already on. I can see no visible debris in the port. It just seems odd that it would just stop working . I guess I can try a technician. We will see if that solves it.

Just to be sure: I think MetropleX was referring to Settings > Security & privacy > Exploit protection > USB-C port > ON (does not add any restrictions).

After changing the setting a reboot might help.
