what has happened to the music player by fossify from fdroid?

yesterday ive noticed that you can choose how to sort files and cant search within a folder..
why?
do you know other good players for local music?

gramophone wont support sorting by date. newest first..

lovefromisrael oh, I see what you mean (I think ;) ). You want to be able to sort by date, from in the tag titled Folders, correct?

lovefromisrael were you responding to me? If so, which 'weird' permissions are you referring to? Booming Music doesn't even need network permission (unless you want it to download lyrics and artwork, but it works perfectly fine without it).

when i opened it there were many many permissions that without them i cannot proceed..
i allowed some of them but not all. but it didn't let to use the app without them all..

lovefromisrael Weird. I have the latest version and it only needs access to my audio files (obviously) and nearby devices (for my bluetooth earbuds and headphones). That's it.

For years been looking for a decent player that can make playlists based on folders, yet to find anything better than aimp(in term of speed and usability). You can customize you library exactly how you want.

Its a great GNU/Linux media player, but the android phone version kinda sucks, on laptop it's keyboard and command line driven, on phone its not really convenient, but I use it anyways

I use VLC myself due to the fact it can play some computer mod formats like .mod, .s3m, .it and .xm
It can also play video's and stream stuff.
Folders are possible, or selecting a song within another app like a file browser or music player before opening it with VLC.
I create my own playlists with it using a folder-based setup.
