In my desperation, I ran another test with “DatacolorReader” and now it works! Even after restarting my Pixel!

When I launch the app, it asks me for my “exact location” (!?!?!), I reply “just this once” and EVERYTHING works, just as quickly as on my Samsung :-)

Is there a way in “GrapheneOS” to automatically give a “false location”?

A million thanks for your patience and help. I'll be back here in a few hours to give the results of my tests for the other two apps! :-)

No no no, make the apps work now. Location spoofing is possible, but not trivial, not recommended in this case since it would risk the connectivity and normal function.

I continued my tests and for both applications, nothing works.

For both, I accepted the permissions (even for the microphone), but there is absolutely no connection to these lights.

As before, there are no problems from my Samsung.

Zhiyun has several other apps on Play Store, maybe try some of them, if they let you create some sort of account?

Yes, it's great, “ColorReader” works perfectly. Thank you again for all the help you've provided in the messages you've posted here.

I did exactly as I did on my other phone, created a login for both apps, and followed the same steps. The Samsung takes a few seconds (about 5) to find and connect to the lights,

but my Pixel keeps spinning and doesn't see anything. I sent an email to both support teams... but I don't have high hopes.

I wonder what additional information simple lights could possibly need beyond everything I've already provided. This is something that worries me a lot, seeing the problems I'm having getting them to work, with no results.

So either GrapheneOS is not yet in a stable version, or these “lights” are stealing information from normal operating systems at a very low level (and Graphene is so secure that it blocks this).

Cpt_FLAM in one of the myriads of postings in the 'troubleshooting Zhiyun Vega device'- genre, I remember a tip about checking for previous device-logins that may block the pairing to the new phone.
