Pixel 10 Pro XL - Problem with Bluetooth

Hello everyone!

I'm new to this forum and also new to GrapheneOS.

I bought a Pixel 10 Pro XL solely to install GrapheneOS.

I know that GrapheneOS is not yet in a stable version, and I'm not here to criticize!

I just wanted to point out (and if possible help) because I have several Bluetooth devices that work perfectly on my “Symsung S24 Ultra” but not on my “Pixel.”

Here are two examples:

What can I do to help? Please note that I'm not a programmer, just a user, so if you need information, please explain exactly what you need :-)

Cpt_FLAM Go to Settings > Connected devices > Connection preferences

Look through these settings for anything applicable.

Have you installed Sandboxed Google Play Services?

I checked “connection preferences” and I don't see anything that could help (I'm talking about the connection with the “Datacolor reder” that I have on hand).

I noticed that when certain Bluetooth devices are detected and I click “pair,” nothing happens. Whereas, for example, with OPPO Enco Free2 headphones, there's no problem; they are detected.

I haven't installed “Google Play,” only “Play Store”... Could that be the problem? If so, how can I install it in “sandbox” mode (just to be sure I'm doing it right)?

Cpt_FLAM In GrapheneOS, the app named 'App Store' is the default Graphene app-updater. Open it and find
Sandboxed Google Play Store
Sandboxed Google Play Services

These are the apps implicated when we talk about installing "Google Play" in GrapheneOS. They are installed and updated only by this App Store-app.

If you tried installing Google Play in any other way, you must first undo that.

It could be. Many apps obtained from the Play Store are built to use Play Services.

Were the directions followed?

I think that's fine.

I have “Google Play services” - Google (mirror) - Installed

and “Google Play Store” - Google (mirror) - Installed

Sorry for these basic questions, but I want to make sure I have the “sandboxed” versions before I can test these devices that are not visible in Bluetooth.

Cpt_FLAM They are actually identical to the ordinary Google ones, in GrapheneOS though, they don't get their extraordinary privilieges that they usually gets in other systems. In order for them to function without those permissions, GrapheneOS has a small 'compatibility-app' that gets installed alongside. This app is shown installed when clicking Play Services in Appstore; gmscompat.config

Thanks for clarifying that. So I did everything right for these installations. Phew.

Now I just need to figure out why the items I mentioned in my first message refuse to “talk” to my Pixel, even though they work fine with my Samsung.

These items are currently preventing me from switching 100% to my Pixel. Once again, I know that it's not yet officially stable on the Pixel 10 series, so I can run tests if a programmer asks me to.

I really want to find a solution to make these devices work. As I'm new to GrapheneOS, I don't yet have a good enough grasp of the details to be able to fine-tune these settings on my own. I didn't expect to encounter this type of problem with Bluetooth.

Cpt_FLAM So among what the three apps have in common is a couple of permissions that you need to allow for them, as well as allow the same permissions to Play Services, not everytimes the Services is nescessary but if they need it, we could do it now to save us some steps.

In the settings for Play Services, go to Permissions

Cpt_FLAM What you see in here, you get to control, in other phones these are often hidden or locked to 'allow'.

Your apps will need access to
'Nearby devices'
'Network'
'Camera'
'Contacts and accounts'

To help the apps, you may allow these permissions here to the GServices.

Cpt_FLAM no surprise, let's shape that app first then. In your app drawer, longpress Datacolor app and tap 'app info'
