Magic Earth Just Updated Across Profiles

Have I missed something but can apps auto-update between the personal profile and work profile?

I had the final free version of Magic Earth installed in the work profile only before their subscription model was intoduced and I blacklisted it from updating in Aurora Store.

Today, I decided to see how bad that app had become so installed the latest version into my personal profile.
True to reports, the app is awful now so promptly uninstalled.

I then noticed my old blue Magic Earth icon in the work profile had changed to the newer purple one.
On opening, low and behold, its the paid version of the app.

I was under the impression apps shouldnt have the privilage to do that.
Was I incorrect in thinking that?

I think so. I updated apps from my owner profile and the same apps in other profiles got updated as well

Cws6dNKPNL3j On a single device, each app is installed just once, though it may be visible in multiple profiles, in which case the data in one profile is not available in the other profile. That's just how Android works.

Cws6dNKPNL3j as de0u says, think of the app itself as shared across profiles but each profile has its own isolated instance of it meaning the underlying app itself can be updated on any profile across the OS.

Jnoon10 you have to long press it in Aurora Store. Not the app from the homescreen.

To clarify, I have not set up user profiles but used Shelter to activate the work profile.
Im assuming then this works in the same manner.
Good to know as I had assumed both were completely separated.
