Automatically deleting contacts issue

We need to know more of your config/setup, have you got developer options enabled, have you made any changes, have you enabled USB debugging, used adb and/or anything like Shizuku etc

MetropleX I don't think my contacts anywhere, they're all locally on the device.

I don't mean to accuse graphene OS of deleting my contacts, I love graphene, I've been using it for almost 3 years.

I don't know what any of these debugging things are, so I assume I don't use any of them. The only thing I enabled in developer options is the OEM unlocking when I installed the OS, and location mocking.

RRZishe You should salvage the contacts and do the backups of your things where possible. Then factory reset your device, reinstall OS per the recommended instructions
without location mocking.

RRZishe I understand and to clarify, I wasn't saying you were I was just ruling it out as the post was made under General. Changed now.

Did you give any app the permission to manage your contacts?
Or maybe you chose contact scopes, and now your contacts app only sees the scoped ones?

Has nothing to do with mock location. If you allow an app to manage your contacts or choose contact
scopes, this is where you start to look for the issue.

RRZishe If you want us to help you check your device, you should keep developer options off. No ADB, no Shizuku. Bootloader must be relocked and your device should be auto-updated. Recommended is to enable Security Preview releases. We cannot offer any support if this isn't acceptable to you.

23Sha-ger the the only third party apps that have any access to contacts are Whatsapp, signal and mysudo

23Sha-ger the location mocking is done through dev options, probably Adb, that state is detectable by numerous apps that may reject normal functionality without a clear warning to the user.

I don't do any of those things, ok don't know what half of them even are. The only "non conventional" thing I use is this: https://f-droid.org/packages/cl.coders.faketraveler
I don't use adb or anything else and I do have security pre releases enabled

RRZishe ok i just tested this, and it won't let you turn the developer options off without losing mock.

23Sha-ger I hope you get this user issue solved. If the mock feature is vital for them, seems like it. But my reaction to the dev options comes from having too many user issues where only after long struggles, turns out it actually was the options after all. I sincerely wish you good luck, hope this is fixable.
