Nova Launcher crashing on Pixel 10 Pro XL

It was working fine until a system update yesterday. Now it crashes whenever I press the home button to search and begin searches with letters A,C,F, and S on my keyboard. Then it completely ignores that I have Nova Launcher set as the default home app. Resetting Nova Launcher to the default settings didn't completely resolve the problem. Searching A still crashes the launcher while the other letters appear to work again. I've tried clean installing GrapheneOS, and the issue remains.

Blackmist07 What version are you running? The recent 2025 one? Myself am still on 8.1.1 on Pixel 7 Pro and everything works a-ok but will be switching 10 Pro XL when it's out of experimental support. I've tried several launchers but none had the usability Nova has. It's shortcut feature can directly call intents of other apps. It's super useful when you need to change some settings often, you can land directly on the setting page instead of scrolling though options every time. You can even access private space using these shortcuts.

23Sha-ger I'm not wanting to go through the trouble of finding another launcher that I like just yet. Nova Launcher still works perfectly fine on the official Pixel 10 Pro XL firmware. Nova Launcher received an update last month on November 10th, even though it was supposedly discontinued before then.

Blackmist07 May I ask, what are your needs in a launcher? Normally there are just icons on multiple screens plus an app drawer. And folders. For that you can just install lawnchair and be done with it.

spl4tt I would like a launcher on par with Nova Launcher's customizability. I like being able to quickly search through my apps directly from the home screen without having to go to the app drawer all the time. I like that I can set it so the search bar appears windowed when pressing the home button and automatically hides when not in use. I've tried out other launchers like Lawnchair and Kvaesitso, and they just don't really compare.

Blackmist07 I don't know about the features you are describing, but I am using Lynx launcher on my Pixel 10 pro and I hope to continue using it as soon as I install stable GOS

I was having issues with Nova Launcher on my P6 and switched to Octopi Launcher. It's in active development but been quite nice. I don't think I miss anything at this point.

i gave up on nova because it did not support private space and I do not regret it.

lawnchair beta from github. very stable, lightweight, customizable. and the project lives. it has daily changes

Byku I'm using version 8.1.6. It runs just fine on my Pixel 7 Pro and the Pixel 10 Pro XL. Something in experimental GrapheneOS builds is causing it to crash, and hopefully whatever is causing that gets fixed by the time the stable release comes out.

Byku It appears to have fixed itself. I uninstalled Nova Launcher and downgraded to 8.0.18, restored my backup, and after upgrading back to 8.1.6 it's no longer crashing.

Blackmist07 That's great to hear. Must've been some data corruption inside Nova Launcher I guess. I hope it keeps working well on the new hardware.
