Would volte work on pixel phones for Australia?

In Australia since end of last year by law your phone has to connect via volte otherwise you can't make or receive phone calls.

I plan on getting a Pixel phone from Australian market, I wanted to know if I flashed it with this custom rom, would my phone be able to use volte and still support Australian Volte?

Out of curiosity, why does Australia require VoLTE? I don't understand what the benefit is.

This is how the phone calls work in 4G/LTE/5G.

If Voice Over LTE (VoLTE) is not enabled, you will have only data and can't make phone calls without falling back to 2G/3G. And if they have already phased out 2G/3G, the VoLTE is the answer.

libertarian Cause Australia is a piece of sh!t country. It's all about making money and forcing people to buy phones in the Australian market. Phones such as Oneplus 7 or other phones from overseas may not be compatible with VoLTE so the Australian government forces people to use VoLTE and phones that are not natively supported by Australian network VoLTE are IMEI banned and if you disabled VoLTE, you can still connect to the network but you can't receive phone calls.

This was never like this a few years back.
