App Exists in User that Does Not Exist

I received the "package conflicts with an existing" error when I tried to install a previously removed app. When I look in "Settings" "Apps" "All Apps" "Show System" I see that the app with a blurb "Not installed for this user". Trouble is I only have one user on this phone.

At one time I did create a second user, but I never did anything with it so I deleted it.

How do I get rid of the app for the user that does not exist?

BTW, I'm on 2025112101 version of GOS.

Have you enabled developer options? Have Adb or Shitzuku been used, at any time for any reason?
Is Private space in use?

mar2112 just asking for the sake of redundancy, do you have a private space set up? Not technically a different user so wanted to cover it. If not, then immediately after an uninstall, sometimes leftover package cache can cause this and a reboot should theoretically fix it.

As above, check to make sure you don't have the app in either a work profile or private space.

I do not have a private space and the app is syncthing-fork.

I tried f-droid, play store and nel01s git page.

I once encountered a similar problem with package conflicts and Syncthing Fork.

If i remember correctly i found a folder with Syncthing files somewhere on my device. After deleting these files (and maybe rebooting), I was able to fix the problem and install Syncthing via Obtainium again.

Sorry if the suggestion isn't very precise - it was a while ago it happend to me and I'm not using Syncthing any more.

If you look at the app here you can delete for all users from the menu. Then you should be able to install again.

I suspect you may have selected the option to keep app data when you uninstalled the app

Carlos-Anso I tried that previously and it didn't work. Just tried again and I was able to delete it. The button seems to be picky as it took a few tries to get it to let me uninstall. Probably doesn't matter but it didn't work until I pressed the button really hard.

I did not keep data so that was not the issue.

Once I got the app what I thought was fully uninstalled I tried to install the git version with Obtanium. Got the same message so I double-checked and the remnant was not listed in Apps. For the heck of it I tried to install from Play Store and that worked.
