Custom DNS for each profile

Currently I use the free Proton VPN and as it does not have the NetShield functionality (tracker blocker) so I use Adguard Dns for that which ends up working for all profiles, however, when testing Tor VPN on a separate profile the VPN connects, however, I cannot access the internet and a notification appears that it was not possible to connect to the custom DNS. When I disable custom DNS, Tor VPN connects normally, but as GrapheneOS does not have the option to choose a custom DNS for each profile, profiles that do not use VPN leak information to the ISP's DNS server.

What to do in this situation?

Does the GrapheneOS team have plans to add the option to choose a custom DNS for each profile?

Onyx VPN service apps can provide alternate DNS including via DoT/DoQ/DoH without changing how any non-DNS traffic is routed. They can also provide that in addition to support for local filtering and using one or more chained VPNs. They're not exclusive from each other and apps can offer all of it. A VPN service app only providing a DNS resolver will not result in any extra overhead for other traffic.

Android's Private DNS feature should be a per-profile configuration option but that's not how it was designed upstream and it would be difficult and invasive to change downstream. The fact that it's not per-profile likely also contributed to the issues it has with VPNs. We recommend setting Private DNS to Off if a VPN is used in one or more profiles. You can use a VPN service app solely providing a DNS resolver without routing other traffic through itself instead.

That's why I had doubts, whether it was possible to make custom DNS per-profile.
Unfortunately, it is not possible, but we are using the tools we can to minimize this need.
