Setting silent mode for certain time periods

So it seems like this is another thing where Google left aosp behind. The do not disturb mode is kind of both too linited and too complicated at the same time: I simply want to set silent mode without affecting anything else, but dnd mode seems to suppress the actual notifications, without any option to just turn off the sound. Are there any reasonable ways of achieving my goal?

Ok, so nothing built in anywhere? I'll have a look at that app, but it looks like it hasn't been updated in a while. Sure, this could be functionality that doesn't change or require updates a lot, but in general that's a bit of a red flag for me.

barding I only know of the options in Settings > Modes, but I'm assuming that's what you meant by "too linited and too complicated at the same time".

Yeah, I guess this will be better, but I'll look a bit at the code first, at least.

Pixel OS has a do not disturb so that you can choose, a silent period once, when you click the button you can set hours until it will turn off and not as part of a schedule

Click, Select, 3 hours, waits 3 hours, turns off silent. I came here looking to see if possible, I guess i should also take a look at that Repo.
