I have been a bit crazy with password managers and tried all the recommended ones (or at least what I found to be private and user friendly). I'm still using all of them for different environments (works, private, business) except KeePassDX because I wanted easy synching.
KeePassDX: Highly secure, offline, generally the greatest if top notch security and privacy is your goal. Totally free, but not very convenient in comparison.
Bitwarden/Vaultwarden: The king of a good open source Password Manager, works as intended and has many good features first (e.g. emergency access with time delay for your estate). A bit ugly, but good usability and cheap prices for premium and family.
Proton Pass: Wonderful design and great feature set when combined with the other Proton tools (aliasing is well integrated with Proton Mail). It's a no brainer if you're in the eco system and don't want compartmentalization, otherwise it's annoying because they try to nudge you to their unlimited plan everywhere.
1Password: Not open source and personally I don't like the workflow. It's good in a workplace setting though, well organized for different teams. The auto fill and auto pressing the login button are really convenient, especially if you do 2FA in 1password as well (not recommended, but pretty much necessary at work with lots of security amateurs).
As of today, I wouldn't look past these 4 and depending on your preferences you might find a favorite. Stay far away from Last pass, Dashlane, Nord Pass etc. as they have a terrible track record or are otherwise not trustworthy.
