I have two of the 1st Gen pixel stands (the little round ones without a fan) and we have a Pixel 6 and a Pixel 7. The Pixel 6 is running the stock Pixel ROM and the Pixel 7 is running GOS. The Pixel 6 stopped working with the stand around the time of the Android 16 update - most of the time when you put it on the stand you get the orange error LED and it won't charge. You can take the phone on and off repeatedly and once in a blue moon it will start charging. We tried both stands and tried resetting the settings on the phone, no joy.
At the time we assumed it was just a broken charging coil in the phone, but my Pixel 7 - which was running GrapheneOS on Android 15 - just received the update to the Android 16 base and now has exactly the same problem with both stands. You have to take the phone on and off repeatedly until the error LED stops showing. It was working fine before and seems like too much of a coincidence that it would stop working in exactly the same way as the Pixel 6.
Any ideas?
