Chat control and Play store

Greetings everyone,

As chat control will be adopted, I wish to know your recommendations regarding the Google play store ? Should I avoid it ?

I use the play store, despite its privacy implications because it has been the must secure way to download apps (security concerns on Aurora and F-droid). But since chat control is going to be adopted (soon or later) I wonder if the apps couldn't be kinda compromised because of Google cooperation with Europeans laws enforcement ?

What are your opinions on it ?
Should I just download as much as possible apps through APKs ? Or there's no risk involving Google play store ?

I don't believe it is yet known what will be adopted into law when, or how successful any challenges might be. I think it is far too early to evaluate tactics.

The fact alone that their enforce reproducible builds is a big point you can get nowhere else

Linux Mandatory scanning is off the table (for now), but parts of the proposal is still set to be implemented.
