Kong I was checking my installed apps in Accrescent and I figured out that Organic Maps version is 2025.11.26.-5-Google. Does it mean I have a version prepared for Google Play Store? Maybe it's better to use Obtainium to download "libre" one from GitHub?
marq2 fyi. you only need google version, if you use android auto. and if i remember correctl, you have to download it from google play store, if you want to use it in the car with android auto. fyi 2: CoMaps is organic maps clone.
niloh Kong Why don't you just download the Google version from Accrescent? It is a more secure way of obtaining the app.
xxx Kong OM from GitHub. The version from accresent worcks 'better' for me. Don't ask why since I don't use any Playstuff on my Pixels. Either way they should both be tracker free.
Kong niloh I want to have a choice. I do not like Google so much. xxx After one day of testing I do not see any difference. Let's see for the future. Quantum Can you elaborate on that?
Quantum Norman I've done the same thing after going through all the info about the shitshow that is Organic Maps
Kong r134a Ah, so someone wants to kill open source spirit of OM. Thanks for explanation. It's enough for me. I am going to try CoMaps!
xxx Kong Ah, so someone wants to kill open source spirit of OM. Didn't knew this. I'm unwilling to switch again...(at the moment). This is the one? -> https://www.comaps.app/
GOS21606 According Exodus there are no trackers in OM Google version? What are the risks the app is part of GOS/Accrescent so it should be safe to use? And what is exactly the difference compare to COMAPS?
