Pixel 8a battery draining and Graphene OS

Hi guys, I have a used Pixel 8a bought a few months ago on Refurbed. Since some days ago, my charger broke while it was charging my phone and basically the phone got stuck in a bootloop, because GOS was trying to install an update (I just needed to reboot but since the battery life was so low, the system couldn't complete it).

I fixed the problem by stopping the rebooting, but, since then, the battery quality of my phone has decresead dramatically. It is very slow when charging and also it drains fast as ever. These are the statistics of my battery usage:

Do these stats look normal to you? 15% when using the camera for 2 minutes doesn't seem normal to me. Is there a problem with my battery or should I try other chargers?

That's not the only thing that happened.
You have Dual SIM, Dual Standby, using both in roaming. Plus a VPN. That's 42%. 50 mins of audio - 26%.
That's just heavy battery use, needing to apply more management in addition to an old battery.

23Sha-ger Yes, I have a dual sim and I'm currently outside of my country, where my SIM is registered. So, is it like I'm using roaming? I also have 2 profiles, but one is basically inactive most of the times. How can I optimize it? Any advice? Pardon my ignorance about this subject!

Emerald Yes, absolutely! I do. It helped me a lot when I bought the phone. I have been using GOS for almost 4 years now, on a Pixel 6a and I had two profiles. In the end the battery was done for, after many cycles. To be fair I used to let the battery run below 5%. That's on me I guess!

I've removed the camera tag from the thread as the camera isn't doing anything out of the ordinary and those percentage figures are all relative. Network and Audio are your primary consumers of battery there, network always is especially if using 5G for which using LTE only is a mitigation. If your device is constantly hunting for and connecting between connections especially in low signal areas this will chew through battery.

Signal will appear on this list and use more battery if not using FCM and Play Services for push. They use a websocket service for push without them and unfortunately it is badly configured for saving battery drain. If you wish to use Signal without Play and use a more efficient websocket implementation I advise using https://molly.im instead.

MetropleX Thank you so much for the advice. I will definitely do that. And what about the charger? This one I'm using is very very slow when charging. Should I buy the original Google charger?
