Material Design 3 Expressive

I find the Material Design 3 Expressive theme awful; why did Google change it like that? The old one was better, in my opinion.

Is this a trick question? They had to change it for the greater glory of shareholder value, because capitalism requires constant change and growth and you can't just let old stuff that's working unchanged.

Unfortunately, we have to suffer through UI changes because security requires the newest AOSP version.

I don't like everything for sure, but a large part of the overhaul sits pretty well with me. I know that if you just see your phone as a tool to perform basic functions with you might not care much for the changes, but making interfaces more reactive and use physics/haptics improves the intuitiveness and smoothness for many users.

I for one am sick of developers doing their best to oversimplify everything and make it look as plain and boring as possible. At least Material Design 3 isn't another version of that and is trying to do something different. For all the shit you can give Google, and we all know it's a lot, Material Design 3 Expressive at least isn't the same boring slop iOS copycat other operating systems have been doing for the past few years.
