So I have an interesting mobile data issue with my secondary profile and I'm hoping someone can point me towards more things to try.
My primary profile is what I usually use. I have an always-on VPN with the "OpenVPN for Android" - it has a TCP port 443-only connection to a ProtonVPN server. This particular connection allows it to work even when I'm connected to my work's public WiFi. I have a private DNS setup in Graphene to use AdGuard.
My second profile is for Android Auto only, so it has all of the necessary Google stuff. I thought this was working well. I hop in to my car and set my destination and am good to go.
Turns out, the internet was only working in this profile while I was connected to my home WiFi. As soon as I was out on mobile data, I had no data throughput. Can't load webpages, can't search new destinations, etc.
If I turn off my always-on VPN in the primary profile and then flip back over, then mobile data is happy. But my understanding is that the second profile should have all of its own rules for VPNs and whatnot, separate from the primary profile, right?
And why tf would my secondary profile be happy on WiFi but not mobile data while the primary always-on VPN is active?!
