Resetting phone to factory

Upgraded my Pixel 8a and trying to reset it so I can return it.

I am following the instructions at https://grapheneos.org/install/web#replacing-grapheneos-with-the-stock-os and I am running into a bit of trouble. When trying to run the tool, I get the error "Error: Failed to execute 'requestDevice' on 'USB': No device selected."

Is there a setting I have to uncheck somewhere?

I was able to install GOS on this phone and a 9pro xl with no issues using Brave and windows 11.

asdf perhaps you messed something with system settings, so just factory reset via settings>system>reset options first.

When the device is in the bootloader interface, using the volume keys select "reboot to bootloader", then use the power button to execute the command. If you are experiencing the same problem I had, the device is not recognised by the computer when first booting into the bootloader interface.
I will write a post about this issue.

lol, sorry, that's wrong, cos it's def browser issue since device is in bootloader mode.

and this is actually also a good suggestion, since you used that browser to set up different device model.

p.s. heh, that didn't even come to mind cos I use private tab in 99% cases and if I need to use regular tab (iirc, gos installation is only via regular tab(example)) I clear it immediately. same to js, I enable it only if needed)

Also make sure you turn off brave shields for the website while trying to flash it back to stock.

also check the Brave page settings to see if a website is using the USB connection from the phone to the computer, for example the GrapheneOS website.

I once had the problem that I could not flash back the phone with the Google tool because the GrapheneOS flash tool had occupied the USB connection to the phone.
