Exchange ActiveSync

Hello,
I am trying to switch to grapheneos for my work phone, and I am struggling to setup my calendar.
I got my email with FairEmail but can't get my calendar.
We have an on premise exchange setup here which requires non outlook android app (outlook android app steals your credential and email contents because outlook android <-> MS servers <-> Our on prem exchange)

I tried fossify calendar and google calendar, they both work with my google calendar account. But no activesync.

I read some threads about this but what I can't understand is why you can't add a ActiveSync account on the grapheneos accounts settings.
This would enable fossify calendar to sync my calendar.

Is this some licensing issue using microsoft proprietary protocol activesync ?

Because right now, I can't have a phone without my calendar, and I don't want to sync my calendar using external relay spy servers.
Why is it not possible to add activesync accounts ?

I'm not sure I understand this, but how are you supposed to add the ActiveSync account?
You need the adapter/bridge, which is usually provided by an app. Maybe the Fossity Calendar is not designed for that.
For a long time I use Nine, and it still works just fine via Active Sync as soon as the protocol is enabled on the mailbox/server side.

Hello !
I kinda thought there was some built in adpater to talk active sync but looks like i was wrong.
I ended setting up gmail android app and used add exchange account, setup manually (= dont use modern auth), i entered my exchange server dns name.
Works like a charm except it synced all my exchange contacts (emails) and the dialer show all them without the "hide contacts without phone number" option its a mess.
So i removed the exchange account, added it again and quickly disabled contact sync.

Anyway it works I have my calendar synced now (used google calendat but I think it d work with any calendar app, since its the gmail app that does the magic here)

Also I monitored incoming connections on EAS endpoint on our exchange server, the ip address is mine, not some google, so I believe they implemented a good activesync client that is not man in the middle like microsoft outlook for android...
